The UN General Assembly, in its resolution 57/277 designated 23rd June of every year as
PUBLIC SERVICE DAY. This day celebrates the value and virtue of Public Service to the
community; highlighting the contribution of public service in the developmental
process; recognizing the work of PUBLIC SERVANTS, and encouraging the young people
to pursue careers in the PUBLIC SECTOR.
POHAN being the parent umbrella body for Public Office Holders in Nigeria, as part of
her activities to commemorate this year’s UN Public Service Day on the 23rd of June,
2023, under the theme “Essential Leadership Qualities for a more Productive Public
Service” – to meet the Sustainable Developmental Goals.”

In Few years of POHAN existence and on occasions of this event, we have been able to
attract very important personalities such as HE, Sir Clyde Rivers PhD, Dr. Sam
Adeyemi, Prof. PLO Lumumba, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi, Barr. Babatunde Irukera, Dr.
Victoria Michaels, Prof. Chris Imumolen, Dr. Leong Ying, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman
Ibrahim, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran to mention few.
